Donation Drive Brings Big Smiles at PAWS – March 2025

Community Support Rolls In
The tail-wagging excitement at PAWS this March was hard to miss. Thanks to generous hearts and busy hands, the shelter has been showered with support, donations and visits – and the animals are lapping up every moment.
From food supplies to toolkits, it's been a month of practical love. Donations poured in from every corner – and the team at PAWS couldn’t be more grateful (or covered in more pet hair).
SPAR Vyfhoek Steps Up Again
SPAR Vyfhoek came through yet again, making sure that bellies – both big and small – stay full. The shelves are now well-stocked with pet food, treats and essentials, allowing the team to focus on what they do best: caring for the furballs who call PAWS home.
The team at PAWS gave a heartfelt thank you to SPAR for their continued faith in the mission and their consistent, reliable support. It’s clear this is more than just a once-off gesture – it’s a genuine community partnership.
Puk Kandelaar Students Share the Love
The students from Puk Kandelaar not only brought donations, but also gave of their time, energy and affection – the ultimate treat for any shelter animal. The visit was packed with pats, walks, tummy rubs and the kind of love only a group of enthusiastic students can deliver.
PAWS says the students had such a good time, they’re welcome back any day. And judging by the grins on both the human and canine faces, it’s safe to say this won't be the last visit.
PCS Learners Bring the Goods
Another big thank you went to Potchefstroom Central School (PCS) for their generous delivery. The learners rolled in with piles of food and supplies – and even a few brave cats came to inspect the goods and sneak in some cuddles.
According to PAWS, the compassion and effort from these young ones was both heartwarming and highly appreciated. The learners clearly understood the assignment – arrive with love, leave with fur on your clothes.
Ebs Hardware Fixes More Than Just Shelters
And then came the cherry on top: a seriously generous donation from Ebs Hardware. The massive tool combo kit is already proving its worth. For a shelter where maintenance is a never-ending job, this gift was pure gold (or at least, orange and black in colour).
No more fiddling with half-broken tools or borrowing from the neighbour – the PAWS team can now make repairs and improvements properly, and most importantly, safely.
Open Invitation to Join the Fun
PAWS is extending an open invitation to schools, businesses and organisations to come by and get involved. Whether it’s donating goods, walking dogs, playing with kittens or just sitting for a while with an old dog who needs a friend – every bit counts.
As one volunteer put it, “You come here thinking you’re doing a good thing. You leave feeling like they’ve done something for you.”

PAWS wrapped up their March campaign with one message: an overflowing, sincere thank you. For every person who gave, adopted, fostered, or simply shared the word – you’ve made a difference.
