Douw Smit Claims 5th Place in Javelin Final at Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

Potch Track Club athlete Douw Smit made an impressive debut for Team South Africa at his first-ever Commonwealth Games, finishing 5th overall in the men's javelin throw final.

Competing on one of the world's biggest sporting stages at the Games in Glasgow, United Kingdom, Smit launched a best throw of 82.88m to secure his top-five finish among an elite international field.

While aiming for a spot on the podium, Smit expressed pride in his performance and the valuable experience gained from his debut appearance:
