Educators to Gather for JB Marks LEO World Teachers’ Day Celebration at Ikageng Stadium

Educators from across the JB Marks Local Municipality will unite in celebration of World Teachers’ Day (WTD) at the Ikageng Stadium on Friday, 17 October 2025. The event, themed “Empowering Educators, Strengthening Resilience and Building Sustainability,” aims to recognize and honor the dedication of teachers who continue to shape the future through education.

🕖 Morning Session: Fitness and Fellowship
The day kicks off early with arrival and registration at 07:00 AM, followed by a 5 km Fun Walk led by Mr. H. Mathekga from 07:00 to 08:30. The spirit of wellness continues with an aerobics session facilitated by instructors from Virgin Active and Planet Fitness between 08:30 and 09:30.Registration of educators will continue until 09:55 AM, ensuring all attendees are ready for the formal proceedings.
🎤 Session Two: Official Programme and Speeches
The second session begins at 10:00 AM, with Mr. S. Phiriepa officially opening the event and extending a warm welcome to all participants. Ms. O. Ntsime will then take the podium to explain the Purpose of the Day, followed by Mr. M. Makanake, who will deliver key announcements as the Sports Convener.
A proud moment will follow at 10:55 AM as attendees stand together for the National Anthem, reflecting unity and national pride.
🤝 Stakeholder Engagement and Networking
From 11:00 AM to 16:30 PM, the celebration will transition into an interaction session with key stakeholders. Representatives from organizations such as Opulent Health, GEMS, Old Mutual, Avbob, Capital Legacy, and Assupol will be present to engage with educators, offering valuable insights and support services.
🍽️ Lunch and Closing
The event concludes with the distribution of meals between 12:00 and 13:00, allowing educators and guests to share a meal and continue networking in a relaxed setting.
