The rumble of engines is set to return to the North West this September as the Veldskoen Rally prepares to host 6,000 riders for a weekend dedicated entirely to two wheels. From 24 to 27 September, the shores of Klerksdorp Dam will become a hub for leather, chrome, and the unique camaraderie of the South African biking community.
The event remains a strictly "motorbikes only" affair, maintaining a "rider first" policy that excludes cars and quad bikes. It is a gathering designed for those who prefer the open road and a handshake to formalities, offering a space where the culture of the ride takes centre stage.

High Stakes on the Main Stage
While the atmosphere is laid-back, the prizes are anything but. The rally has lined up a series of significant giveaways that are sure to keep the adrenaline high. On Saturday night, the main stage will host the live draw for a QJ SRT 900. To claim this machine, the ticket holder must be present at the dam when their name is called.
For those who might be elsewhere at the moment of the draw, a 2026 Suzuki Hayabusa is also up for grabs through the "Unlock Your Ride" lucky draw. Unlike the main prize, you do not need to be at the rally to win this one. Entry is gained by purchasing an official Veldskoen Rally keyring for R200, which can be collected at the event. Each keyring acts as a single entry, and once the limited stock is sold, the draw closes.
Additionally, the motorcycle club that shows the strongest support by purchasing the most rally tickets will ride away with a Lifan Machete 125cc.
Life at the Dam
It wouldn’t be a proper South African rally without a solid spread of food and entertainment. Attendees can expect 14 curated food stalls serving up local favourites like boerewors rolls, steak rolls, and curry and rice. Live artists will provide the soundtrack to the weekend, and for those staying over, camping is included with every access pass.
Safety is also a priority for the organisers, with ProWatch providing security throughout the weekend. While the event is family-friendly, the focus remains firmly on the bikes and the people who ride them.
Joining the Pack
Tickets are currently available in two tiers: the Ignition Edition for R450 and the Full Throttle for R500. Both passes grant full entry to the rally grounds, an official event wristband, and an automatic entry into the QJ SRT 900 draw. There are no separate raffles or extra steps required; buying a pass puts you in the running.
Whether you are there for the live music, the chance at a new bike, or simply the dust and the distance, the Veldskoen Rally 2026 is shaping up to be a highlight on the local calendar.
