Potchefstroom Dorp Rugbyklub heads into their final league fixture of the 2025 season with everything to play for. After a season that began with promise but proved difficult to sustain, the club now faces a crucial test against Wolves Rugby Club this coming Saturday, 9 August.

The upcoming away match, believed to be somewhere near Hartbeespoort or Brits, marks the last opportunity for Dorp to secure a place in the semi-finals. Wolves, known for their strength and structure, will pose a significant challenge. Supporters are encouraged to follow the team’s journey and show their support from wherever they are.

Mixed Results in Klerksdorp – 2 August Recap
This past weekend saw all three Dorp teams in action away from home. While the senior sides narrowly missed out on wins, the third team delivered a commanding performance:
First Team: Potch Dorp 33 – 36 Klerksdorp 1
Second Team: Potch Dorp 17 – 19 Klerksdorp 2

Third Team: Potch Dorp 29 – 10 Alabama 1
The third team continues to impress with consistent performances, while the narrow losses in the senior divisions highlight the competitive nature of the league at this stage.

Youth Development Initiative Begins
In addition to league fixtures, Potchefstroom Dorp Rugbyklub is launching its Junior Rugby programme this week. Practice sessions for boys in the U/13, U/15, and U/17 age groups will begin on Friday, 8 August at 17:00.
The club extends an open invitation to boys across Potchefstroom and surrounding communities to become part of the season and engage in local rugby development.

With league ambitions on the line and grassroots development underway, this weekend represents an important moment for Potchefstroom rugby, both on and off the field.
