The Department of Home Affairs has officially announced a community outreach programme for the month of July, aimed at improving access to essential identification services. Residents in and around Potchefstroom will benefit from mobile services offering the processing of ID documents and passports.
This initiative is especially geared towards reaching areas where travel to the main Home Affairs offices may pose a challenge for many citizens, particularly the elderly and those in rural or less-connected communities.

Community Service Schedule
The campaign kicked off on 2 July 2025 at the Correctional Centre in Potchefstroom. The department will continue its outreach by visiting multiple venues across various dates throughout the month. Sites include clinics, schools, community halls, and other accessible public venues in areas like Extension 7, Mohadin, Ikageng, Promosa, and Klipdrift.
Each location will host officials from the Department of Home Affairs from 08:30 to approximately 15:30, ensuring community members have ample time to access services. Notably, the campaign will make multiple returns to key areas such as Mohadin Community Hall and Extension 7 Steve Tshwete Clinic to accommodate larger volumes.
Serving the Community
This programme underscores the department’s commitment to inclusivity and service delivery. By bringing government services directly to the people, the outreach helps reduce the burden of travel costs, long queues, and lost work hours associated with visiting distant service centres.
The department urges all eligible community members to take advantage of these scheduled visits and ensure their documents are up to date. This is particularly important for school registration, job applications, social grants, and general identification purposes.
