JB Marks Announces Planned Water Shutdown for Installation of New Motor and Pump

The JB Marks Local Municipality has issued a public notice informing residents of Potchefstroom about a scheduled water shutdown at the Ventersdorp Road Pump Station. The shutdown is planned to allow the installation of a new 200 kW motor and pump at the facility.

The interruption is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, beginning at 6:00 AM and continuing until late in the evening. The municipality explained that the upgrade is necessary to improve the efficiency and reliability of the water supply system.

Areas Expected to Experience Water Interruptions

Residents in the following areas may be affected during the shutdown period:

• Kanonierspark

• Witrand Hospital

• SANDF

• Dassierand

• Promosa

• Mohadin

• All Ikageng Extension Areas

• Eesterling Reservoirs

The municipality urged residents to make adequate preparations by storing enough water ahead of time. They also expressed their apologies for any inconvenience caused and thanked the community for its cooperation.
