In continued tribute to Nelson Mandela’s unwavering spirit of service and community upliftment, the Department of Financial Management Services at JB Marks Local Municipality is hosting a meaningful Mandela Day Celebration on Friday, 18 July 2025, from 09:00 at Toddler Town Day Care Centre in Bapei, Promosa.
This event aligns with the national call to action to spend at least 67 minutes giving back to society in memory of Madiba’s legacy of unity, compassion and selflessness.

Uplifting the Future Through Action
The day’s activities are thoughtfully designed to bring joy to the children of the daycare while enhancing the learning environment. Planned initiatives include:
Drawing a hopscotch area for the kids to encourage playful learning and physical development
Painting vibrant cartoons on the exterior school walls to create a colorful, stimulating space for the young learners
Grocery shelving and donation of balls to support the nutritional needs and recreational development of the children
These efforts aim to create a lasting impact for both the children and staff at the daycare.
Leading the Day
The celebration is championed by MMC for Financial Management Services, Cllr. Loreal Tesnia Abrahams, and Chief Financial Officer Mr. Jeffrey Monareng. Their leadership underscores the department’s commitment to social responsibility and active community participation.
