The JB Marks Local Municipality has announced an important community initiative aimed at improving sanitation facilities for young learners. On Monday, 22 September 2025 at 12:00, toilets will be officially donated to two pre-schools in Ward 06 as part of an ongoing effort to enhance hygiene and early childhood development environments.

Schools Benefiting from the Donation
The event will cover two nursery schools in the community:
Gaopelo Pre-School at Mokoko Church
Mama’s Pre-School located behind Ikageng Roman Catholic Church
These schools cater to young children who will greatly benefit from improved sanitation facilities, ensuring a healthier and more dignified learning space.
Leaders Behind the Initiative
The donation drive will be spearheaded by Cllr. Ishmael Moilwa, MMC for Water and Sanitation, together with Cllr. Mafinki Stephen Tloome, Ward 06 Councillor. Both leaders have emphasized the importance of proper sanitation in schools, particularly at the foundational level where children’s health and comfort are critical to their development.
Community Impact
Access to adequate sanitation remains a challenge in many communities. By donating toilets, the JB Marks Municipality is directly addressing issues of hygiene, safety, and dignity for learners. This move also aligns with broader government commitments to improving infrastructure in early learning institutions.
Invitation to the Public
Community members are invited to join the event and witness this positive change in action. The initiative reflects the municipality’s ongoing commitment to service delivery, health, and education support at grassroots level.
