JB Marks Municipality Announces Planned Water Shutdown for Ventersdorp Road Pump Station

The JB Marks Local Municipality has issued a public notice informing residents of a planned water supply shutdown at the Ventersdorp Road Pump Station. The shutdown is scheduled to take place on Monday, 15 September 2025, from 06h00 to 18h00.

According to the municipality, the interruption is necessary to facilitate critical infrastructure upgrades at the pump station. The appointed contractor will be installing two new pumps, a new valve on the main supply line, and a new bulk water meter.

Areas to Be Affected

The shutdown will impact water supply in the following areas:

• Promosa

• Mohadin

• Dassierand

• SANDF Base

• Witrand Hospital

• Kanonniers Park

• All Ikageng Extension Areas

Advisory to Residents

Residents in the affected areas are urged to store sufficient water in advance for the duration of the shutdown. The municipality anticipates that the work will start promptly at 06h00 and be completed by 18h00 on the same day.

The JB Marks Local Municipality also issued an apology for any inconvenience caused and appealed for the community’s patience and understanding during this period of critical maintenance.
