The JB Marks Local Municipality continues its commitment to empowering youth with essential skills by hosting the second batch of appointments for the Ward 19 Learners License Program. The event is scheduled for Friday, 15 August 2025 at 16:00 at the Lusaka Community Hall.

Empowering Young Drivers
The initiative, guided by the hashtags #RaethomaRaefetsa and #YouthLearnersLicense, aims to give young residents aged 18–35 the opportunity to obtain their learners licenses, thereby promoting road safety and opening doors to job opportunities that require driving skills.
Appointment Phase Details
This phase targets applicants who have already expressed interest and are ready to complete their appointment process.Participants are required to bring:
Valid South African ID
Two ID photos
Eye test results
The municipality emphasizes the importance of being prepared to avoid delays in processing.
Community Impact
Councillor S.M. Moretsi, who is overseeing the program, highlighted that such initiatives are part of the municipality’s broader youth empowerment strategy, which aligns with national objectives under the G20 and NDP 2030 frameworks. The program not only promotes responsible road use but also addresses unemployment by equipping young people with a valuable skill set.
