The JB Marks Municipality has released its latest service delivery progress report, highlighting both short-term interventions and long-term infrastructure upgrades across several departments. Despite weather interruptions, multiple teams recorded measurable progress in maintaining essential services and advancing major projects.

Roads and Infrastructure
Uncertain weather conditions led to a temporary pause in road patching activities. Instead, teams prioritised material preparation, equipment maintenance, and planning for upcoming phases. This adjustment aims to secure efficiency and quality once work resumes.
Stormwater Management
Preventive maintenance focused on clearing critical catchpits. Systems in Big Street Sarafina and Refiloe Street were cleaned to optimise stormwater flow and reduce the risk of flooding once heavy rains arrive.
Rural Connectivity
In Goedgevonder Village, gravel road grading was completed, improving access for rural residents and ensuring transport routes remain open for farmers and families.
Water Services
Pressure improvements were recorded at the Steve Tswete Clinic. Monitoring and system upgrades continue as part of efforts to stabilise water supply to critical health facilities and surrounding communities.
Sewer Response
A sewage blockage reported at 15561 Sereo Street was resolved on the same day, reflecting the municipality’s ongoing focus on rapid response to prevent environmental and health risks.

Reservoir Projects
Large-scale investments in water security continue through two major projects:
Extension 7 (25ML Reservoir): First-quarter roof slab decking underway, expanding capacity significantly.
Ikageng Reservoir (Pump Station Upgrade): Progress includes casting new bases for Pump No. 8, motor installations, old pipeline replacement, generator delivery, and bulk pipeline upgrades.
These projects represent some of the most extensive water infrastructure initiatives in decades, designed to secure long-term supply for the region.
Waste Management
All household bins, business premises, and identified hotspots were fully cleared, maintaining a consistent record of 100% waste collection across the municipality.
Capacity and Modernisation
Ongoing investments in worker safety and skills development remain a priority. Municipal staff are equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE), supported by modern machinery, and provided with training to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Outstanding Department Reports
Reports were not received from the paving team, road marking unit, electrical department, water services (secondary projects), Ward 11 sewer project, illegal cleaning team, and parks department. Updates are expected in the next reporting cycle.
