The JB Marks Municipality has released its daily service delivery update for Sunday, 10 August 2025, highlighting progress in road repairs, sewage maintenance, and water infrastructure management across all wards. The report confirms several key projects have been completed, with ongoing monitoring in areas requiring follow-up work.

Road Repairs and Yellow Fleet Operations
Road maintenance teams completed 100% of scheduled repairs for the day, including:
Full patching at the Wilgen and Eleazer intersection, restoring smooth driving conditions.
Repairing a long excavated strip on Eleazer Street following earlier electricity department work.
Partial patching on Goud Street in Ward 07, with additional work planned for next week.
Grading work was also carried out on Mokwele Street in Ward 18, improving access for residents along the gravel road. The municipality noted that these repairs will help reduce flood risks and enhance road safety.
Sewage Spill Resolutions
All six reported sewage spill cases were resolved:
Chabalala & Bathoeng Street – blockage cleared.
Tlhalerwa Street (2648) – blockage cleared.
Sebakwane Street (42) – blockage cleared.
Khuti Street (3544) – blockage cleared.
Kerileng Street (8885) – manhole serviced.
Matlhare Street (265) – foreign objects removed.
Residents are reminded to avoid flushing wet wipes or disposing of cooking grease in drains to prevent future blockages.

Reservoir and Water Supply Status
Water levels remain stable across operational reservoirs, ranging between 75% and 95%, with no emergency breakdowns reported. Two reservoirs remain offline for planned maintenance.
Old Works: 95.45% capacity, supplying the central business district.
Vyfhoek Complex: 6.4ML reservoir at 92.86% (active), two 3.4ML reservoirs isolated for maintenance.
Ventersdorp Road Station: Levels range from 75% to 85.71%, with the 15ML reservoir under close monitoring as it refills.
Ikageng Area: Both main and west reservoirs at 86.36%, supplying 22,000 households.
Eesterandjies: 5ML reservoir empty for planned cleaning; 10ML reservoir isolated for valve repairs, with temporary rerouting in place.
The Ventersdorp 15ML reservoir and Eesterandjies isolation remain on the municipality’s watchlist for potential supply impacts.
Community Notices
Residents are advised to drive slowly over newly patched roads for the first 24 hours, as surfaces may still be soft. No water restrictions are currently in place. The municipality encourages residents to report issues to the relevant contact numbers provided for water, sewage, roads, disaster services, and electricity.
Final Thought
The JB Marks Municipality’s update reflects steady progress in maintaining essential infrastructure and addressing service delivery needs. With continued monitoring and planned maintenance, the municipality aims to ensure reliability in core services while encouraging community cooperation in preserving public assets.
