The JB Marks Local Municipality has released its daily progress report on service delivery, reflecting significant developments across multiple departments. This was issued on 18 September 2025

Road Patching – Promosa Road
Work on Promosa Road (Part 1 – Commercial Corridor) is nearing completion. Crews revisited and asphalted previously squared potholes, extended work to cover new large potholes, and filled all identified areas. The project has achieved 96% completion, with final tasks scheduled for completion soon.
Paving and Drainage
At Promosa Road near the cemetery, a precision paving project was carried out. The work included installing interlock paving, repairing water flow systems, and ensuring proper drainage through concrete reinforcement. These measures aim to improve road durability and safety.
Yellow Fleet Operations
The municipality’s Yellow Fleet successfully managed both urban and rural projects. In urban areas, teams completed backfilling sewer trenches at Mosidi Street, ensuring long-term soil stability. In rural regions, gravel road grading was conducted in Mogopa, Velgevonder, Tsetse, and Boikhutsong villages, improving connectivity and access.
Water Services
Water teams addressed multiple leaks and pipe bursts across Tshistri, Tswelelopele, Sepotokele, Siyabulela, Sihlangene, Legodi, Phaladi, and Extension 11. Repairs included meter replacements, saddle fixes, and pipe rebuilds. Monitoring continues as system-wide low flow has been reported despite all valves being open.
Sewerage Services
Rapid interventions cleared blockages at Muwe, Modiboa, Dr James Moroka Street, and Montshioa Street in Ikageng. These measures prevented further spillage and protected access to essential community services.
Sewer Line Project – Ward 11 Phase 3
The municipality continued progress on the Ward 11 Phase 3 sewer line project. Recent achievements included trench backfilling, soil compaction, and securing newly installed pipelines. Next steps involve fresh trenching and pipeline installation under strict safety standards.
Waste Management
Waste management services reported 100% collection success across households, businesses, and hotspot areas. Consistent clearance contributes to environmental health and improved community trust.
