Potchefstroom and Ventersdorp residents are witnessing continued service delivery efforts across critical sectors, including road maintenance, water infrastructure, electrification, and waste management. With Forsman Street receiving special attention due to its role as a hospital access route, and gradual recovery observed in reservoir levels, municipal teams remain active in improving essential infrastructure.

🛣️ Road Repairs Prioritize Hospital Access
Forsman Street, a key corridor leading to healthcare facilities, is currently undergoing intensive repairs. As of 15 July:
55% of potholes between Tlokwe Brewery and Real Steel Engineering have been patched.
The remaining 45% is scheduled for completion by midday on 16 July, after which teams will shift focus to Bathoeng Street in the afternoon.
🏗️ Paving Projects: Progress and Preparations
Madi Street (Ward 16)
Base stabilization and grading are complete.
Paving material is awaited, with delivery expected by 1 August 2025.
President Street
Paving stones that were removed for underground electrical work have been reinstalled.
Cable repair and testing confirmed before final paving.
🚜 Yellow Fleet in Action: Rural Support
In Mogopa Village (Ventersdorp), yellow fleet machinery has completed school ground maintenance. The next phase includes sports field leveling to support youth activities and local events.
♻️ Waste Management: Full Coverage Achieved
100% waste collection reported for:
Household bins
Business premises
Known waste hotspots
Illegal dumping was addressed at the corner of Mare Street, improving public hygiene.
🔥 Community Appeal: Stop Skip Bin Fires
Residents are urged to avoid burning waste inside skip bins, as it damages municipal property and causes delays in collection. Officials emphasize this practice as a growing concern impacting public service efficiency.

💧 Reservoir Status: Gradual System Recovery
Significant recovery was recorded in most of JB Marks’ water storage facilities, though vulnerabilities remain:
1️⃣ Old Works Reservoir – 86.36% (Stable)
Serving: CBD, Extensions 1–3, Mohadin
9.09% increase within 24 hours due to successful leak repairs and night pumping support.
2️⃣ Vyfhoek System – 6.4ML at 96.43%
Supplies Promosa and Extension 11
Constraints: Both 3.4ML backup tanks remain isolated (12th day of 315 pipeline project).
3️⃣ Ventersdorp Complex – Improving but Still Fragile
9.5ML: 75% (up 14.29% since 13 July)
13.5ML: 71.43% (requires daily monitoring)
15ML: 64.29% (still low; night pumping continues for hospital supply)
4️⃣ Ikageng System
Main: 72.73% – stable but being closely monitored, especially for school and clinic demand
West: Critical drop to 54.55% – down 32.81% in 48 hours
Emergency steps: Prioritized supply cuts to non-essential zones
5️⃣ Eesterandjies – Gradual Refill
5ML Tank: Up to 22.73% (9.09% gain)
Tanker deployments reduced from 4 to 2 daily
10ML tank remains isolated; valve replacement ETA: 17 July
🔧 Engineering Interventions Underway
Ikageng West: Leak detection and priority pipe repairs
Eesterandjies: Final valve installation and refill control protocol
System-Wide:
Water quality tests ongoing
Industrial water audits initiated to curb overuse
📢 Public Notices
