The JB Marks Local Municipality has released its latest service delivery progress report, highlighting major road repairs, infrastructure support, and community milestones. The updates demonstrate the municipality’s ongoing efforts to improve critical infrastructure while celebrating the contributions of long-serving staff members.

Road Patching Success
Significant progress was achieved through the Road Patching Unit, with multiple priority routes completed:
Beyers Naudé Avenue – 100% Completion. All potholes were squared, stabilized, asphalted, and sealed. Work extended beyond the original scope to cover areas near the fuel station traffic lights.
Dr James Moroka & OR Tambo Intersection – 100% Completion. Repairs included squaring, stabilising, filling, and compacting the remaining side of the intersection, ensuring full restoration.
Additional Route Work. Proactive repairs were carried out at Tromonto Flats access road, MacArthur Potchefstroom Swimming Pool and Park area, and smaller potholes were addressed while teams were in transit.
Paving and Infrastructure Support
The paving team completed structural support work linked to electricity job cards, including paving and curb reinstatement. Concrete pouring was also finalised to ensure long-term stability and access for future maintenance.
Yellow Fleet Operations
Yellow Fleet teams supported ongoing projects by extracting G5 materials for the sewer project and stockpiling resources strategically at Mosidi Street, Ward 11. This groundwork provides essential support for long-term infrastructure reliability.
Celebrating Service – A Community Milestone
In addition to technical achievements, the municipality marked a special occasion: the 62nd birthday of Ntate Dire, a veteran of the Road & Stormwater Unit with 43 years of dedicated service since joining the municipality in 1982. His long-standing commitment was honored as a symbol of dedication and community spirit.
