Klerksdorp Welcomes New Parkrun Venue at Star Raceway

A new addition to the local recreation calendar begins this weekend as Klerksdorp launches its latest parkrun venue. The inaugural Star Raceway parkrun is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 18 July 2026, offering a fresh 5-kilometre route for participants.

As with all official parkrun events, this weekly, timed 5k is free for everyone.

What the Venue Offers

Located behind the main restaurant, the venue features several facilities designed to accommodate participants and families:

• Post-Run Breakfast: The restaurant situated right at the finish line offers a parkrun breakfast special for participants who present their scanned barcode.

• Family-Friendly Spaces: A play area equipped with a jungle gym is available on-site for children.

• On-Site Accommodation: For those travelling from outside the immediate area, guesthouse lodging is available on the property, allowing visitors to stay overnight near the starting line.

• Convenience Services: The venue includes neat toilet facilities and an on-site car wash service.
