KYB Academy to Tee Off Its First Golf Day - 16 October

The Kitso Ya Boleng (KYB) Academy is swapping textbooks for tees this October. The Academy will be hosting its very first Golf Day on Thursday, 16 October 2025, at the Potchefstroom Country Club.
A Day on the Green
The event format is set as a 4-Ball Alliance, with a shotgun start at 09:30 AM. Registrations open an hour earlier at 08:30 AM. The day won’t end on the last putt either. Golfers and guests can look forward to a price-giving ceremony and networking reception afterwards, with dinner and drinks included.
Entry Fees
Booking a spot will set you back:
R2 000 for a 4-ball (no cart)
R2 200 for a 4-ball (one cart included)
Additional carts can be arranged directly through the Potchefstroom Country Club.
Sponsorship Opportunities
For businesses looking to mix brand visibility with community support, KYB has a spread of sponsorship packages:
Gold Tier (R25 000) – six months of advertising on KYB’s billboard, two golf carts included, and even full Microsoft Office Suite training for two staff members.
Silver Tier (R15 000) – three months of advertising, two carts, and Microsoft Office training for two staff members.
Bronze Tier (R10 000) – one month of advertising, two carts, and a 35% discount on Microsoft Office training for one staff member.
There are also price sponsorships for longest drive, closest to the pin, and other golfing bragging rights, ranging between R2 500 and R5 000.
Why It Matters
This is not just about golf swings and birdies. KYB Academy, established in 2016, is a registered Non-Profit Company focused on youth empowerment through education and skills development. After relocating from Ottosdal to Potchefstroom in 2018, the Academy expanded its accredited and non-accredited programmes, aiming to prepare young people from disadvantaged communities with the skills they need for employment and career growth.
The Golf Day is designed to celebrate collaboration while raising awareness and support for this ongoing mission.
