In a powerful display of unity and compassion, Let’s Get Fit Gym is rallying the Ikageng community to give back through a Charity Drive in honor of Mandela Day. The initiative aims to uplift those in need by collecting food, clothing, and other essentials, while also bringing people together through fitness and fun.
The event will take place at Tsa Phokeng Carwash & Shisanyama in Sisulu Street Ext 11, on Saturday, 19 July 2025, running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Inspired by the famous quote, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give,” the organizers are encouraging residents, businesses, and fitness lovers to join hands in helping the less fortunate.

Donations and Activities
The gym is appealing to the public to donate:
Non-perishable food
Gently used or new clothing
Shoes and blankets
Volunteers are also invited to assist with food preparation and distribution. “Even just your presence will make a difference,” say the organizers.
The day promises more than just charity. Attendees can look forward to free fitness sessions, interactive games, and the chance to promote their businesses. Participants are encouraged to wear their sports gear or company-branded clothing, adding to the vibrant, community-driven spirit of the day.
Open to All
Everyone is welcome, whether to give, help, or receive. Local vendors are invited to set up stalls, and potential sponsors are encouraged to reach out to have their logos featured on the event materials.
