Across Potchefstroom and beyond, our local schools have had a week filled with proud moments, strong performances, and inspiring teamwork. From the sports fields to the choir stands, dance floors to community projects, learners have shown that talent, heart, and determination go a long way. Here's a round-up of recent highlights worth celebrating! ๐

๐บ Tokkies Junior and Senior Choir Earns Double Cum Laude!
Laerskool Mooirivier's Junior and Senior Choir has done it again! They brought home a double cum laude, a reward for weeks of late-night rehearsals and dedication. Under the leadership of Ms Esmie, the choir continues to impress and hold their own against big-city schools.
๐ Volkies Hockey Teams Bring the Heat
Volkies' girls played against Wesvaliaย earlier in the week and closed off the weekend against Hoรซrskool Brits. Meanwhile, the boys took on THS Klerksdorp, with all three teams securing solid wins. A week full of teamwork and determined play!

Volkies' girls took on Lichtenburgย this weekend at home. While results were mixed, a huge congratulations goes to the 1st teamย for a strong victory!

๐ Classic Clash 2025: PHSB vs HTS
The FNB Classic Clashย between Potchefstroom High School for Boys (PHSB)ย and HTS Potchefstroomย delivered action across both rugby and soccer. PHSB won most matches, including a strong soccer showing, but HTS took the overall win. The PHSB 1st rugby team narrowly lost (17-21), while the soccer 1st team brought in a win.
The Rotary Club of Potchefstroom Mooiย packed and distributed 250 grocery parcels from the Ackerman Facility. With the help of Potch Boys High. This was part of their impactful Imagine Project.
๐ Potch Girls' High U15A Goes Unbeaten!
The U15A hockey teamย from Potchefstroom Girls' High finished the league undefeated! Led by Mrs A Strydom, the team showed consistency, teamwork and passion throughout the season.
Potch Girls' High hosted the NWMCA Majorettes Competition, and their own team lit up the field. A big thank you to every learner, helper, photographer, staff member, and supporter who made the day memorable.

Learners at Redwood College stepped into class in their favourite cosy slippersย for Slipper Day! A fun day with a serious message, reminding us that small acts of kindness can make a big impact.
๐ Gimmies Rugby Results vs Merensky
Gimmies had mixed rugby results against Merensky. From a big 39โ0 win by the U15B team, to a thrilling 41โ41 drawย in the 1st team match, there was no shortage of action!

On 31 May, several Baillies mountain bikersย took part in the Flatties & Moaniesย and Magalies Monsterย races. With tough climbs and determined riders, they proved that it's all about pushing forward, no matter the trail.

At the SADF Star Championshipsย on 7 June, Ferdies dancersย made their mark! With top placements in various categories, Shantey van Zyl, Shaney van Zyl, and Elrise Pretoriusย danced with heart and confidence.

Our U11 Emmies netball teamย proudly secured third placeย at the North West Championships. A great show of teamwork and determination throughout the tournament.
