The High School for Girls Potchefstroom is once again bursting with pride as three of its talented majorettes, Bonolo Mosikidi, Keitumetse Mothibeli, and Mangaliso Nkumbesi, have been awarded their North West Colours following an outstanding performance at the recent provincial majorettes camp.

This incredible achievement is a reflection of their discipline, dedication, and the countless hours spent perfecting routines, mastering precision, and representing their school with pride and passion. These learners have proven that with teamwork, perseverance, and flair, dreams can be realised, on and off the field.
🌟 The Significance of North West Colours
Earning provincial colours is no small feat. It represents the highest level of recognition within the North West province for excellence in a school sport. It also means that these learners will represent their province in upcoming national competitions, an opportunity reserved for only the top performers in their category.
For Bonolo, Keitumetse, and Mangaliso, this accolade is more than a badge, it’s the reward for years of unwavering commitment, early morning practices, and the ability to lead with confidence and inspire others.
More Than Just Pom-Poms
Majorettes is often underestimated as a sport, yet it demands strength, coordination, rhythm, and immense team spirit. At Potch Girls High, it is a source of camaraderie and sisterhood, a platform where young women are empowered to be leaders and role models.
The school has long supported the development of this vibrant sport, and with continued achievements like this, it’s clear that the investment in these athletes is paying off.
Potch Girls High Pride
Principal and staff at Potch Girls High have shared their excitement and pride in the team’s performance, saying:
“These young women embody the values of our school, grace, determination, and excellence. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and look forward to seeing them flourish even further.”
As the girls prepare for the national stage, their fellow learners, teachers, and the greater Potchefstroom community will be cheering them on every step of the way.
