Matlosana Celebrates Disability Rights Awareness Month with Dynamic Inclusion Programme

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, the City of Matlosana, in partnership with the Matlosana Community Empowerment Forum (MACEF), successfully hosted a dynamic and vibrant programme to mark Disability Rights Awareness Month. The event served as a powerful platform for celebrating disability inclusion and fostering greater community awareness.

High-Level Attendance and Partnerships
The significance of the event was highlighted by the attendance of key stakeholders from both government and community sectors. The programme was graced by the presence of Mayor, Cllr Fikile Mahlophe, and the LED (Local Economic Development) MMC, Cllr Wesley Kgang.
Crucially, the event saw extensive collaboration, drawing participation from essential governmental and non-governmental bodies, including MACEF, SASSA, the Department of Health, Social Development, the Department of Home Affairs, the National Prosecuting Authority, and Makiti Funerals.

A Celebration of Empowerment and Talent
The programme commenced with an opening address and warm welcome from Mayor Cllr Fikile Mahlophe. The day was a lively celebration of inclusion, featuring a diverse array of activities designed to promote awareness, education, and empowerment within the community.
