Matlosana Deploys 50 Newly Trained Meter Readers Ahead of December Billing Cycle

The City of Matlosana has announced the deployment of 50 newly trained meter readers who will begin fieldwork ahead of the next municipal billing cycle. The initiative, confirmed on Thursday, 13 November 2025, forms part of the municipality’s broader efforts to improve billing accuracy and streamline service delivery.

Training and Deployment of Meter Readers
According to the Finance Department, the group of 50 meter readers recently completed a training programme that covered a range of essential skills, including:
Accurate meter reading techniques
Safety protocols
Customer service procedures
The training aims to ensure that staff members are adequately prepared to perform meter readings consistently and accurately across all residential and business areas. The new readers have already begun entering the field as part of their final practical training phase.
Municipal meter readings are scheduled to officially resume on 1 December 2025.

The City of Matlosana also released its Meter Reading Schedule for December 2025 through June 2026, covering multiple areas including:

Doringkruin, La Hoff, Wilkewille, Ellaton, Randlespark, Declercqville, Orkney
Meiringspark, Elandsheuwel, Collerville, Roosheuwel, Nesserhof, Flamwood, Wilkoppies, Irenapark, Kanana
Stilfontein
Khuma
CBD Klerksdorp, Jouberton
Krags 1–6, among other zones
Each area has assigned reading dates for every month from December 2025 to June 2026, ensuring predictability and transparency for residents. The schedule forms part of the municipality’s efforts to maintain consistent meter-reading operations throughout the year.

Temporary Submission Channels for Residents
While meter readers complete their field training, residents are encouraged to submit their meter readings through the following channels:

The municipality notes that these contact points are used solely for receiving readings. No replies will be issued, as submitted readings are captured directly into the billing system.
Residents are advised to include clear photographs of their meters, accompanied by their account number and physical address when submitting information.
