Klerksdorp’s getting ready to start the new year with a proper celebration, the Matlosana Hello Festival. Taking place on 1 January 2026 at Mshengu Fun City, the event promises a full day (and night) of music, food, and that familiar “we survived December” energy. Gates open at 11AM and the festivities roll on until 2AM.
A Days of Fun
On New Year’s Day, the All White Soul & Jazz Festival takes place, featuring Mandisi Dyantyis, Zoe Modiga, Selaelo Selota, Nduduzo Makhathini and others. The idea seems simple enough: ring in the year with smooth sounds and slightly less dancing than the night before.
Ticket Talk
Tickets are available through Computicket, including outlets at Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper and Usave.
Early bird: R200
Regular Computicket: R300
At the gate: R350
VIP access: R1 500 per person
The VIP package comes with live screens, finger foods, dedicated security and waiters, a cash bar, and unreserved seating. It opens from 12PM till late, so basically from lunchtime until the night finally gives up.
Cooler Boxes and Cubicles
Festival organisers are clearly familiar with local priorities, so yes, cooler boxes under 50L get in free. The “50L Coolerbox Free Entry” offer applies on 1 January, which feels like a friendly nudge to arrive prepared.
If sharing space is more your style, there are cubicles for 10 people going for R6 500. Each includes 10 VIP tickets, seating for everyone, and the option to bring your own braai, meat and drinks. Only 20 cubicles are available, and booking details are provided below for the truly organised.

Between jazz, amapiano, cooler boxes, and cubicles with braais, the Matlosana Hello Festival might just be the most South African way to say goodbye to 2025 and hello to 2026. Just don’t forget your sunscreen, and maybe your dancing shoes for the 31st.
