The City of Matlosana continues to implement its dual strategy of enhancing revenue collection through community accessibility while simultaneously maintaining critical water infrastructure. This week, the municipality has focused its efforts on the Wilkoppies and Alabama regions, addressing both administrative convenience for ratepayers and the long-term hygiene of the local water supply system.

Finance Outreach: Mobile Pay Point Campaign at Wilkoppies
The City of Matlosana Finance Department has extended its Finance Outreach Pay Point Programme to the Pick n Pay Hyper in Wilkoppies. This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between the municipal administration and its constituents by bringing essential financial services directly to high-traffic retail environments.
As of Wednesday, 11 March 2026, the mobile office remains operational, providing a localized hub for residents to manage their municipal obligations. The outreach service is scheduled to occur every Wednesday and Saturday from 09:00 to 13:00.
Services available at the mobile station include:
Payment of municipal accounts.
General account enquiries and billing clarifications.
Assistance with various municipal service applications.
Residents seeking further information are encouraged to contact the Finance Department via telephone at 018 487 8514 / 8550 / 8420 or via email at Finance@klerksdorp.org.

Planned Water Interruption: Reservoir Cleaning and Disinfection
In an effort to ensure the continued quality and safety of the region's potable water, the City of Matlosana has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown. On Saturday, 14 March 2026, the municipality will conduct the cleaning and disinfection of two primary storage facilities: the Alabama (4.5 Mℓ) and Alabama (26 Mℓ) Reservoirs.
The maintenance work is expected to last for twelve hours, specifically from 06:00 to 18:00. During this window, several neighborhoods will experience low water pressure or a total interruption of supply.
Affected areas include:
Alabama and Alabama Extensions 1 through 5.
Manzilpark.
Jouberton Extensions 19, 20, and 21.
The municipality has issued an apology for the anticipated inconvenience and advises residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance to meet their needs during the maintenance period.
Through these proactive measures, the City of Matlosana aims to balance the necessity of revenue generation with the technical requirements of urban infrastructure management. By facilitating easier payment methods and prioritizing the sanitation of water reservoirs, the local government continues to work toward a sustainable service delivery model for its residents.
