Merafong is set to sparkle this December as CPI Security organises two separate Christmas Light Parades, bringing some festive cheer and much-needed support for local charities. Residents and businesses are invited to get their creative juices flowing and their fairy lights untangled for the events happening in Fochville and Carletonville.
Two Nights, Twice the Sparkle
The festive fun kicks off in Fochville on 19 December 2025, followed by the Carletonville parade on 20 December 2025. CPI Security is calling on all locals, from the biggest businesses to the keenest residents, to decorate a vehicle or float with an abundance of Christmas lights and ornaments. The goal is simple: light up the towns and raise money for a good cause.
Getting Involved (and Getting Bragging Rights)
Participation is open to everyone, with a small entry fee that goes entirely to a local charity. It’s R100 for the public (per vehicle) and R250 for businesses (per vehicle). Think of it as a small price to pay for bragging rights and a big dose of community spirit.
Beyond the feel-good factor of helping others, there are a few perks for those taking part. All entrants will receive a certificate of appreciation, and participating businesses get free exposure on CPI’s platforms, a lekker bonus.
The competitive spirit will also be ticking along, as the community will have the final say by publicly voting for their favourite vehicle or float, just for a bit of fun, naturally.
The Nitty Gritty
Those planning to join the convoy should note that limited spaces are available. Interested parties need to RSVP by 10 December 2025 to secure a spot. The exact parade route and start location will be shared only with confirmed participants.
If your vehicle decoration skills are non-existent, or you can’t make the parade, the organisers are also accepting donations to help boost the charity funds.
To confirm participation or make enquiries, contact CPI via WhatsApp on 082-589-7655 or the office on 018-787-5096. The parades are all about lighting up the area and spreading Christmas joy under the ‘CPI Star’.
