There is a special kind of magic that happens when a community decides that no child should go without. This past weekend, the dusty streets of Dominionville were transformed into a playground of joy, proving that the spirit of giving is alive and well in the North West.

What started as an idea by local organizers, Morne and Marlene, blossomed into a full-scale festive celebration, with Rotaract Klerksdorp acting as the vital bridge between willing hands and hopeful hearts.
The Power of Connection
While Rotaract Klerksdorp is known for leading initiatives, this weekend they played the role of facilitator. By connecting the organizers with the right sponsors and networks, they proved that service organizations are often the glue that holds a project together.
But the real stars were the individuals who stepped up. Morne and his team worked tirelessly behind the scenes, securing everything from boerewors to a jumping castle, ensuring the day was filled with laughter and full tummies.

A Community Effort
The success of the day was fueled by generous local businesses and individuals:
Ultra Liquor ensured everyone stayed cool with a sponsorship of cold drinks.
Flimieda Spar came to the party with a generous donation of buns for the food.
However, the most touching aspect of the day was the "Gift List." Community members were given the opportunity to choose a specific child from a list and buy them a gift. The response was overwhelming. Not only was every child on the list sponsored, but the overflow of generosity meant that even more children than anticipated went home with a wrapped present.
Looking Ahead: The Stationery Drive
The team at Rotaract isn't resting on their laurels. With the festive season well underway, eyes are already turning to the new school year. The club has announced their next mission: collecting school stationery to ensure the children of Dominionville can start 2026 with confidence.
"Our hope is to get even more people involved in future projects," the club stated. "Together we can keep making an impact!"
To Morne, Marlene, Rotaract, and every person who bought a gift or braaied a boerewors roll: You didn't just give a party; you gave a memory.
