North West Triathlon Returns to Orkney - 1 November

The North West Triathlon is back on the calendar for Saturday, 1 November 2025, and it’s shaping up to be another lively mix of swimming, cycling and running. For those less keen on all three, there are duathlon and aquabike options as well, plus fun races for the younger crowd. The venue is Plot 3, Pretoriuskraal, just outside Orkney.

Duathlon

• Standard (2006 & earlier): 10km run, 40km cycle, 5km run

• Sprint (2010 & earlier): 5km run, 20km cycle, 2.5km run

• Supersprint (2011–2014): 2.5km run, 10km cycle, 1.25km run

• Kids Fun Race (2015 & after): 600m run, 3km cycle, 600m run

Triathlon

Standard (2006 & earlier): 1500m swim, 40km cycle, 10km run

Sprint (2010 & earlier): 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run

Supersprint (2011–2014): 400m swim, 10km cycle, 2.5km run

Kids Fun Race (2015 & after): 100m swim, 3km cycle, 600m run
