The name Caput, meaning “head” or “leader” in Latin, reflects the identity of its residents as leaders both on campus and in the broader community. Known as the “Home of the Caracal,” Caput stands tall as a residence built on Christian values, academic excellence, and personal development.
Here, every Caputter embodies the ideals of leadership, perseverance, and pride, making it a residence that inspires its members to achieve greatness in all aspects of life.

Annual Potjiekos Competition: Corridors compete in a spirited cooking contest to win the coveted potjiekos-tournament trophy.

Caput’s courtyard is also the venue for the residence’s famous potjiekos competition, where corridors come together in a display of culinary skill and unity.
