NWU opened their Varsity Netball campaign with an emphatic 63–29 victory over debutants Varsity College, laying down an early marker in this year’s competition. The Eagles wasted no time asserting dominance, moving the ball across the court with pace and accuracy. Their fast tempo proved overwhelming in the first quarter, racing to an 18–5 lead.

Varsity College Show Some Resistance
In the second quarter, Varsity College found their rhythm, shaking off initial nerves to produce a more competitive performance. Despite their efforts, NWU’s experience and clinical finishing kept them firmly in control. By halftime, the Eagles had doubled their opponents’ tally, leading 32–14.
Eagles Maintain Control
The Comets fought hard in the third quarter, adding nine goals to their scoreline. However, handling errors and costly penalties hampered any real chance of closing the gap. NWU capitalized on the mistakes, rotating smoothly through their squad and stretching the margin to 47–23 at the end of the quarter.
