NWU Tawana FC to Host Highly Anticipated Youth Football Tournaments this July

Young football talent is set to take center stage in Potchefstroom as NWU Tawana FC, in partnership with the JB Marks Local Football Association (LFA) and JAM Clothing, officially announces its upcoming youth football tournament series.
Designed to showcase and nurture grassroots soccer talent, the upcoming event brings community spirit and sportsmanship to the forefront, expanding its reach to the best developmental squads across regional streams.

Tournament Schedule & Age Groups
The action will be split across consecutive weekends to accommodate two exciting youth divisions:
Under 13 Tournament: Saturday, 11 July 2026
Under 15 Tournament: Saturday, 18 July 2026
Time: 08h00 – 16h00 (Both weekends)
Venue: Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds, Field B & C (The proud home of NWU Tawana FC)
Entry Fee: Free Registration
Qualification and Format
To ensure top-tier competition, tournament entry is performance-based. The tournament line-up will be comprised of elite local development squads earning their spot through merit:
The Top 5 teams according to the current log standings from each league stream will earn automatic qualification.
5 additional spots have been specially reserved for invited teams from the Ventersdorp region, guaranteeing an expansive and highly competitive local showdown.

The tournament serves as a vital platform for youth players to test their skills, build teamwork, and gain valuable competitive experience. Backed by the official structures of North West University (NWU), the NWU Eagles, and local football authorities, the event highlights a shared commitment to sports development within the region.
With powerhouse local sponsors like JAM Clothing on board, both weekends are shaping up to be a festive, community-driven celebration of the beautiful game.

In an effort to keep youth sports accessible, registration for qualified teams is completely free. Teams matching the qualification criteria are encouraged to confirm their slot as early as possible.
