Known for fostering pride, passion, and an unbreakable brotherhood, Veritas shapes its residents into leaders who excel academically, socially, and personally. With its motto, “Men in Truth,” Veritas inspires its members to embrace integrity and rise above challenges while supporting one another as brothers.
Here, every resident learns the value of perseverance and camaraderie, building lifelong friendships and memories within a home that values tradition and character.

Facilities
Veritas offers well-designed facilities to support residents’ academic, social, and cultural pursuits:
Trophy Cabinet: A proud display of Veritas’s rich traditions and achievements.
Recreation Hall: Hosts internal meetings, cultural events, and liaison activities with women’s residences.
Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse: The heart of Veritas, where residents gather for socials, sports events, and traditional activities, including Father & Son Weekend and chicken roasting day. Home to Veritas’s unique beer, Eagle’s Ale.
The Square: A central open area equipped with braais and benches for internal and external activities.
Kitchens and Laundry: Each corridor has a kitchen with storage, a hydro-boil system, and filtered water. Laundry facilities include washing machines, dryers, ironing boards, and clotheslines.
Computer Room: Seven computers with full internet access are available for academic use.
Prayer Room: A serene space for Bible study, fellowship, and personal reflection.
Corridor Lounges: Each lounge includes an LCD TV with DSTV, dartboards, and comfortable seating.
Music Room: Equipped with instruments, including the beloved piano, Grietjie, for practice and creative expression.
Tuck Shop (Shongololo Shop): Operated by residents, it offers snacks and sandwiches weekly.
Archives Room: Preserves the history and achievements of Veritas while fostering a sense of tradition.
Achievements
Cultural:
Veritas has a proud tradition of excelling in cultural events. In 2024, the residence secured 3rd place in Serenade finals, delivering a memorable and high-energy performance. The annual Culture Evening is another highlight, where corridor performances and individual talents take center stage.

Under the leadership of House Parent Mr. Leslie Barends and Residence Officer Phumlani Muthwa, Veritas creates a supportive environment where residents can thrive. The management team upholds the values of integrity and excellence, ensuring every resident has the tools to succeed.

Tiaan Bester: Encourages residents to embrace challenges, build lasting friendships, and make the most of their time at Veritas.
Chinedu: Provides guidance and emotional support, fostering a safe space for residents to share experiences and grow.
Veritas Men’s Residence offers a balanced university experience, blending academic excellence with social and cultural enrichment.
