PAWS Haven continues to receive an increasing number of vulnerable kittens and puppies, some arrive with their mothers, while others are found completely on their own. These young animals require temporary care, warmth, and consistent attention until they are strong enough to be adopted into permanent homes.

The organisation is inviting members of the community to consider becoming foster parents. Fostering is a compassionate way to provide a safe environment while giving these animals the chance to grow healthy and ready for adoption.
What Fostering Involves
Fostering does not mean taking on all the costs or responsibilities alone. Instead, it is a partnership between PAWS Haven and the foster family.
🥣 Supplies Provided: All food and required medication are supplied by PAWS Haven.
🏡 Safe Space: The foster parent’s main role is to provide shelter, love, and a secure environment.
🕒 Temporary Care: Fostering lasts only until the animal is old enough or well enough to move into an adoptive home.
💌 Communication: Foster parents are added to a dedicated WhatsApp group for quick updates and requests for help.
Even a short stay in a caring home can drastically improve a young animal’s chances of survival and adoption.
Fostering vs. Adoption
It is important to understand the distinction between fostering and adoption, as both play vital roles in animal welfare.
Fostering:
Temporary arrangement.
Goal is to prepare the animal for adoption.
All supplies and medical needs are provided by the shelter.
Offers flexibility for those unable to commit long-term.
Adoption:
Permanent responsibility.
The animal becomes a lifelong family member.
Adopters cover ongoing costs such as food, healthcare, and daily care.
Provides stability and a forever home for the pet.
While fostering helps bridge the gap, adoption offers the final solution by ensuring every rescued animal has a safe, permanent place to belong.

How the Community Can Help
By volunteering as foster parents, community members extend PAWS Haven's reach beyond its shelter walls. This support allows the organisation to rescue more animals, reduce overcrowding, and save lives.
Anyone who wishes to assist can reach out directly to PAWS Haven to join the foster network. Even a small contribution of time and space makes a meaningful difference.
Final Thoughts
Fostering is more than just temporary care, it is a lifeline for kittens and puppies who might otherwise not survive. Each foster home provides comfort, stability, and a chance at life. Through community involvement, PAWS Haven can continue to give every small soul the opportunity they deserve.
🌸 Thank you to every individual who has already opened their home and heart. Your kindness helps transform vulnerable beginnings into brighter futures. 🌸
