PAWS: Celebrating Success & Meeting the Ones Still Waiting

September thus far has been a month of joy and relief at PAWS Haven, with many animals finding the homes and families they deserve. These success stories remind us why fostering and adoption are so important: they change lives, both for the pets and the people who welcome them.
😺 Reunited: A sterilized Russian Blue male cat, found in Baillie Park without a microchip, has been joyfully re-claimed by his owner.
🐾 Adoption Joy: Two juvenile cats now have a forever home thanks to Eddie and his son, who opened their hearts and home.
🐾 Tabby Adoption: A gorgeous and friendly male Tabby has been adopted by Franco, ready for a life full of care and affection.
🐾 Siamese Adoption: A sweet Siamese male found his loving forever home with Chelaine.
🐾 Foster to Adopt: Two little fur-babies are thriving in their foster home with Wilbert and Gizelle, with hopes of a permanent adoption.
🐾 Gentle Soul Adoption: A stunning foster boy, known for strutting like he’s on the catwalk, was adopted by Ciska, where he now joins a family of furry siblings.
🐾 Black Beauty Adoption: One of three black kittens found his forever home with Nadine, his perfect match.
🐾 Container Rescue: A 4-month-old girl once dumped in a container has already found a safe, loving home with Elmereé and Andrea.
Fostering also made a major difference: abandoned kittens, often stressed and vulnerable in shelter environments, were taken in by Heleen. Within hours, their transformation from fear to relaxation showed the powerful impact of a caring foster home.
These successes prove that every act of kindness , whether adoption or fostering , gives animals the chance at life and love they so deeply deserve.
Still Waiting for Love
While we celebrate these happy endings, many animals remain in need of homes, either permanent or foster. Each one is unique, but all are waiting for someone to open their heart.
Doepie 💙
Meet Doepie, a handsome Lab-Collie cross. Playful, loyal, and full of love, Doepie would be the perfect companion for an active family who enjoys both adventures and cuddle time. He waits patiently at PAWS Haven for his forever home.
Three Kittens 😻😻😻
These three fur-babies are around 10 weeks old, already eating on their own and potty-trained. They are calm-natured, friendly, playful, and loving. Perfect for a family looking for joyful, affectionate companions.
Lost Pets – Hoping for a Reunion 🚨🐾
Two dogs were recently found wandering in Kanonierspark and brought safely to PAWS Haven. If they belong to you, please contact the shelter immediately to bring them home.

Urgent – Cats in Crisis 😿
In just the past month, over 90 cats and kittens were surrendered or dumped at PAWS Haven. Each one requires feeding, medical care, housing, and love, but more importantly, they deserve safety and dignity. This heartbreaking surge shows just how vital fostering and adoption are. Every foster family helps reduce overcrowding and saves lives.
Final Word
Every success story shows what can be achieved when compassion leads the way. But many animals are still waiting, from energetic dogs like Doepie to tiny kittens in need of safe homes. Fostering gives them a chance to grow and heal, while adoption provides the forever family they long for.
