After a weekend of strong performances and spirited club unity, Potchefstroom Dorp Rugbyklub is gearing up for another action-packed Saturday as they prepare to face Welkom in what promises to be a physical and demanding day of rugby. This time, all three senior men’s teams, Firsts, Seconds, and Thirds, will take the field, setting the stage for a full-scale clash with a traditionally strong opponent.

The fixture, set to take place on Saturday, 7 June 2025, at Piet Bosman Park in Potchefstroom, is expected to attract a loyal local crowd. Known for their aggressive play and discipline, Welkom has long been a respected rival in the President and Neser Leagues, and Saturday’s encounters are shaping up to be among the hardest-fought of the season.
📍 Fixture Line-up:
Third Team vs Welkom 3
Second Team vs Welkom 2
First Team vs Welkom 1
The return of the third team to the weekend line-up is a notable boost for Potch Dorp, highlighting the club’s depth and readiness to contest across all levels. After a last-minute cancellation from Impala in the previous round, the Dorp Third Team will finally get their chance to run out in front of home fans again.

Last weekend’s performances have injected confidence into the Potch Dorp squads. The First Team’s dominant 42–17 win over Impala and the Second Team’s nail-biting 15–14 victory showcased both composure and class under pressure. With Welkom games known to be hard, Dorp’s players will need to match that intensity from the first whistle.
