Following a mixed set of results in recent league matches, the Potchefstroom Dorp Rugby Club’s second team has earned a spot in the upcoming semi-finals of the league. The fixture, scheduled for Saturday, 16 August 2025, will see the Second Team face off against the Northam Wolves at a neutral venue near Hekpoort.

Recent Fixtures Recap
The past weekend's away matches brought a tough outing for both Potch Dorp senior sides. On 9 August, the First Team endured a heavy defeat against the top-performing Wolverines 1, ending 7–114. The Second Team also struggled against Wolwe 2, going down 10–71.
Despite these results, the second team had done enough throughout the season to secure a place in the semi-final stage. Earlier matches this month included narrow losses to Klerksdorp 1 and 2, but the team’s consistent efforts in earlier rounds have now positioned them for a shot at the finals.

Semi-Final Outlook
This weekend’s clash against the Northam Wolves marks the final hurdle before a potential spot in the league final. Northam Wolves, recently crowned the new Neser League winners, come into the match with strong momentum, making this an intense and highly anticipated showdown.
Potch Dorp's Second Team will need to dig deep and draw from their season-long preparations to rise to the challenge against one of the toughest sides in the competition.
Final Thoughts
With everything on the line this Saturday, all eyes will be on Potch Dorp’s second team as they take on a formidable opponent. The club and community will no doubt be rallying behind the team in what promises to be an exciting semi-final encounter.
