For any athlete, earning your national colors is the ultimate accolade. It represents the culmination of countless early mornings, grueling training sessions, and unyielding discipline. For the RCFAI Potch ICE-Team, that dream has officially become a reality for two of their standout fighters.

The club announced today that Eben van Eeden and Duvan Vermaak have been selected for the 2026 National Team.
The Pinnacle of the Sport
Ring Contact Fighting Art (RCFA) is a discipline that demands not just physical power, but immense mental fortitude. To rise from the provincial North West level to the national stage places these two athletes in an elite bracket.
According to the RCFAI Potch management, this selection is "one of the highest honors in our sport." It serves as validation that the hard work put in behind the scenes at the local dojo has paid off on the big stage.
Flying the Flag for North West
Van Eeden and Vermaak now carry the hopes of the entire North West province. Their inclusion in the 2026 squad means they will be competing against the very best in the country—and potentially representing South Africa internationally, in the upcoming season.
For the younger members of the ICE-Team, Eben and Duvan now stand as tangible proof that with enough "fight" and determination, the national jersey is within reach.Congratulations to Eben and Duvan. Potchefstroom is in your corner!
