A heartfelt community initiative is underway to spread kindness and creativity this festive season. A local resident is collecting plain children’s T-shirts to decorate with unique, hand-drawn designs, all in support of Vat Verniet Tafel, a community project that provides clothing and essentials to families in need.

A Creative Way to Give Back:
Each T-shirt is transformed into a one-of-a-kind piece, featuring colorful hand-drawn images such as the Statue of Liberty, eagles, sunflowers, and Olympic symbols. These designs are cheerful, symbolic, and made with love, a creative effort to bring smiles to children who will receive them as Christmas gifts.
The aim of the project is to collect and design 50 plain T-shirts before 5 December, with every completed shirt being donated to Vat Verniet Tafel 20 Desember. The initiative captures the true spirit of giving, turning something simple into a token of joy and care.

How the Community Can Help:
Residents who wish to contribute can donate:
Plain children’s T-shirts (no prints or logos; any color, though light shades are preferred).
Small Christmas ornaments or materials to make them (paint, boxes, craft supplies).
Unwanted Christmas trees, which can be repurposed for the festive drive.
Donations can be dropped off at Mooirivier Beskerming, where the items will be collected and delivered to Vat Verniet Tafel in Potchefstroom.

Way Forward:
This community project is more than just an art initiative, it’s a reminder that small acts of creativity can have a big impact. Every hand-decorated shirt represents love, compassion, and the spirit of Christmas.
Together, the Potchefstroom community can make a difference and ensure that every child receives a reason to smile this festive season.
