Winter Rugby Meets Warm Hearts in Potchefstroom
This Saturday, 5 July 2025, rugby fans and community supporters alike are invited to Piet Bosman Park for a day filled with passion, purpose, and proudly local sport. Potchefstroom Dorp Rugbyklub is back on home ground and they’re not just playing for the scoreboard. They’re playing for something bigger.

Three senior teams will take to the field, offering top-tier clashes against familiar rivals. But while the scrums, tackles, and tries are guaranteed to thrill, the real win lies in what’s happening off the field.
Play With Purpose: Supporting Huis Hebron
This weekend’s match day is a dedicated effort to support Huis Hebron, a safe haven and shelter that provides care, warmth, and hope to individuals in need within the Potchefstroom area. As winter tightens its grip, the need for basic necessities, especially warmth, becomes urgent.
That’s why your entrance to the games is a blanket or a donation of R10 or more. Each blanket and every rand collected will go directly to Huis Hebron, helping them serve their residents through the cold months with comfort and dignity.
It’s rugby with a cause, community spirit in action.

Why It Matters
Potchefstroom is a town built on heart, teamwork, and a sense of togetherness and this weekend embodies that spirit perfectly. Every blanket collected could be the one that helps a child sleep warm. Every R10 could help Huis Hebron continue their incredible work in our town.
So gather your loved ones, dress in your club colours, and come be part of this community-driven effort. With good food, great rugby, and the chance to help a local shelter, this Saturday is more than just a match day. It’s a movement.
Be the Warmth This Winter
Let’s pack the stands, lift the "gees", and show that Potch doesn’t only cheer for its teams, we stand up for our people too.
