There is a specific kind of energy that radiates from someone who has found their true calling. Jonè isn’t just working a job; she is living out a mission. While many spend decades searching for a career that provides both meaning and passion, Jonè found hers the moment she stepped into nursing college in 2023. Today, she is a dedicated caregiver with a heart for service and a dream that needs a little help from her community to reach its full potential.

A Calling Lit by Faith
For Jonè, nursing is far more than clinical procedures and textbooks, though her friends still laugh about how she could never put those textbooks down. It is a spiritual assignment. She views herself as an instrument in God’s hands, using her skills to serve Jesus by showing His love to every patient she encounters.
"It was like a match someone lit and a fire starting in my heart," Jonè explains when describing her entry into the medical field. That fire has only grown.
To her, being a nurse means:
Holding a hand when a patient is paralyzed by fear.
Providing a voice of hope in moments of despair.
Restoring strength to the weak and comfort to the grieving.
Ensuring peace for those at the end of their journey.
The Hurdle to the Dream
While her passion is limitless, her financial resources are not. Jonè has reached a point where she is eager to upgrade her skills and further her studies. This progression isn't just about personal career growth or achieving financial stability, it's about becoming a more effective tool for healing. By advancing her education, she can provide a higher level of care to the Potchefstroom community she loves so dearly.
Her colleagues describe her as exceptionally hardworking and constantly willing to learn, but the high costs of nursing education remain a significant barrier. To bridge this gap, Jonè has launched a Back-a-Buddy campaign, turning to the power of collective kindness to help fund her tuition.
Every great nurse is backed by a community that believes in the power of care. By sharing Jonè’s story or contributing to her fund, you aren't just helping someone pay for a course; you are investing in the hands that will one day care for the vulnerable and the hearts that will bring light into dark hospital rooms. Jonè is ready to keep that fire in her heart burning bright, let's help her carry the torch.
