It’s been a phenomenal stretch for athletes representing Potch Track Club (PTC) and Athletics Central North West (ACNW). From elite podium finishes at the ASA 10km Championships in Bloemfontein, to duathlon victories and international selections, this season reflects the consistency, grit, and growth that define champions.

🥉 Strong Finishes at ASA 10km Champs
Held in Bloemfontein, the ASA 10km Championships was a major test, and the North West team delivered with confidence and class.
Konkobe brought home the bronze medal, clocking 29:07, and leading the ACNW men.
PTC/ACNW athletes showed their depth:
Jerry Motsau – 31:17 (2nd ACNW)
Puseletso Mofokeng – 32:12
Divan de Vries – 32:18
ACNW’s bronze in the team category cemented their position as one of SA’s most competitive provinces on the road.

🥇 Junior Women Dominate
The junior race was a 1–2 knockout for PTC’s rising stars:
Alri Verster stormed to victory in a PB of 37:02 to take the Junior 10km title.
Katelynn Steenkamp wasn’t far behind, with a PB of 37:20 for 2nd place.
Both athletes are now gearing up for international exposure:
Katelynn heads to Réunion Island for the 1500m at the Étang-Salé International Meeting on 27 November.
Jerry Motsau will compete in the 3000m at the same event on 29 November.

🏃♂️ Dylan Hughes – Back on Track
After battling through injury earlier this season, Dylan Hughes is showing powerful signs of resurgence.

He qualified for SA Champs after finishing 2nd in the 18–19 category at the NW Duathlon Champs.
He followed up with back-to-back victories on 27 September and 1 November in the North West Triathlon Series, including an overall win at the first event.
Hughes also tested his endurance in a different format, placing 2nd Junior at the Let’s Go Potch 21km, using the race as a controlled long run.
🎯 The Bigger Picture
The achievements from PTC and ACNW athletes signal a robust development system and a thriving performance culture in the North West province.
Talent is being discovered, nurtured, and tested, nationally and internationally.
Personal bests and podium finishes are becoming the norm, not the exception.
From track to road, and now multi-sport formats like duathlon, PTC athletes are setting the standard.
👏 A big salute to all coaches, mentors, and supporters behind the scenes, your work fuels these results.
