The Potchefstroom community came together in an extraordinary display of unity and generosity at the Potjiekos Competition and Beer Mile, hosted by De Leeukuil and Potch Dorp Rugby Club on 1 November. The event blended friendly competition, family fun, and strong community spirit, ultimately resulting in meaningful donations and essential goods for Amelia Nasorgsentrum, a centre dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals in the town.

Colourful gazebos, lively cooking stations, children’s play areas, craft stalls, and families gathered under trees created a festive atmosphere. With people chatting, dancing, cooking, and relaxing across the field, the day truly reflected what Potchefstroom does best: standing together for a good cause.

The Potch Dorp Rugby Club extended sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the event’s success. A special acknowledgement went to Ferdi Joubert, whose dedication played a significant role in coordinating the Potjiekos and Beer Mile activities.
