Car owners in Vredefort and Mokwallo are planning to swap the usual Christmas jingles for something with a bit more horsepower. The Praise Convoy of Hope, also called “Roar for Jesus With Joyful Noise”, is happening on Saturday 6 December 2025, with engines expected to start revving from 18h00.
The idea behind the noise
The convoy is inviting anyone with a “roaring” car, and basically anyone who loves a loud set of wheels, to join a drive through the streets as a public act of worship. Organisers say the goal is to bring joyful sound and united praise into the community, and to turn that noise into a prayer on wheels.
In their words, it’s a kind of spiritual battle cry aimed at pushing back against poverty, addiction, abuse, neglect and sickness, and calling for freedom and restoration. The event leans on the theme “Roar for Jesus”, pointing to Jesus as the “Lion of the Tribe of Judah”, and encouraging Christians to be bold, courageous and vocal about their faith.
When and where
The convoy takes place in Vredefort. No venue is listed because the road is the venue. The drive begins at 18h00 on 6 December, so anyone joining should be ready to roll by late afternoon.

What to expect
If the organisers get what they’re hoping for, Saturday evening will feature a line-up of cars in all shapes, sizes, colours and custom builds moving together through town, making a joyful racket for a cause bigger than chrome and tyres. Drivers who normally get told to “keep it down” might finally have a religious exemption.
Either way, the message is simple: bring your car, bring your faith, and bring your loudest “roar” for a Christmas season that starts with a convoy instead of a choir.
