Golfers in the Klerksdorp area are preparing to trade their afternoon tee times for a twilight mashie as NTT Nissan Klerksdorp hosts a unique Charity Golf Mashie on Friday, 19 December 2025. The event is set to take place at the Village Mashie Golf Course in Orkney, with all proceeds benefiting the Orkney & Klerksdorp Animal Shelter.
Day and Night Golf: A Round with a Twist
This is not your average Saturday morning fourball. Participants are signing up for a Day and Night Golf competition, bringing a slightly eccentric flair to the greens. Check-in starts at 16:00, with the Shotgun Start scheduled for 17:00. The format will be an IPS Competition, which means players will need to keep their wits about them as daylight fades and the challenge ramps up. Organisers confirm that night golf balls are not included, so players must remember to bring their own luminous ammunition for the second half of the round.
Supporting the Animal Shelter
Every swing taken on the 19th of December will directly support a worthy cause. All proceeds from the day’s play will go directly to the Orkney & Klerksdorp Animal Shelter. The shelter uses these funds to care for animals in need.
How to Get Involved
Getting on the greens is straightforward. A 4 Ball entry costs R1,000.00 and includes access to the halfway house snacks and refreshments. For businesses or individuals looking to support the shelter without playing, a Hole Sponsor slot is available for R300.00.

In South Africa, the blend of charity, sport, and a little bit of offbeat humour often makes for a great event. The NTT Nissan Klerksdorp Charity Golf Mashie offers local players a chance to enjoy a unique day-and-night round while supporting a valuable cause like the Orkney & Klerksdorp Animal Shelter. It’s a good way to hit a few balls and help a few paws.
