This month, the Rotaract Club of Klerksdorp continues its heartfelt campaign to celebrate and support organisations transforming lives across the KOSH area and beyond. Through this initiative, Rotaract is shining a well-deserved spotlight on changemakers who dedicate themselves to building stronger, more compassionate communities. Each featured organisation represents a unique cause, yet they all share one powerful mission: uplifting others through service, love, and leadership.
Orkney & Klerksdorp Animal Shelter
“Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Rehome.”
Since its founding in 2010, the Orkney & Klerksdorp Animal Shelter has been a lifeline for hundreds of abandoned, neglected, and stray animals across Klerksdorp, Orkney, Stilfontein, and Hartbeesfontein. What began as a small group of concerned residents has grown into a full-scale rescue and rehabilitation centre where compassion meets commitment every single day.
The shelter’s mission is clear, to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need while promoting responsible pet ownership through education and adoption programs. Their volunteers work tirelessly, often rescuing animals from dire situations and providing them with the love, medical care, and safety they deserve. Beyond animal care, the shelter fosters community awareness around sterilisation, vaccinations, and humane treatment, creating a ripple effect of empathy that extends far beyond their kennels.
How to Help:
Donate: Financial contributions, food, blankets, and cleaning supplies are always needed.
Volunteer: Spend time walking dogs, helping with feeding, or assisting during community adoption days.

The MEA Entrepreneurs Association plays a pivotal role in North West’s economic development. Founded by a dynamic team of young entrepreneurs who connected during the SEFDA Financial Management Training, MEA was built on values of empowerment, collaboration, and sustainability.

Established in 2003, Mbuso Management Solutions (founded by Daddy Khuselo, also known as Lwazi DK Khuselo) is a black-owned consulting and training company accredited with multiple SETAs.
