Crisscrossing the province to celebrate an incredible 65 years of making music together, the band left a trail of packed venues, standing ovations, and timeless memories.

15 May: Music Knows No Age Bounds

The heart of the tour was rooted in deep community connection. On 15 May, updates highlighted a heartwarming initiative by frontman Steve Ashley and his wife/band manager, Ebeth, who had spent the previous week visiting six retirement villages across the Western Cape. They brought music, memories, laughter, and dancing to countless residents.

The pinnacle of these visits unfolded on the evening of 15 May, when Steve sang directly to a 101-year-old fan. Her radiant smile made the evening truly unforgettable, proving to everyone in attendance that music knows absolutely no age bounds.

22 May: The Scenic Journey to Montagu

The second leg of the Western Cape tour kicked off with an epic road trip. On 22 May, the band reflected on the previous day's scenic journey, which took them through Goodwood, Bellville, Paarl, Worcester, Robertson, and Ashton, before finally arriving in Montagu. Traveling through the landmark Huguenot and Cogmanskloof tunnels, the band soaked in the spectacular mountain views, setting the stage for a massive weekend of live music.

The live performances for the second leg officially commenced on the evening of Friday, 22 May at 19h00, where a captivated crowd gathered at the NG Kerk Montagu for a night that absolutely rocked.

23 May – 24 May: Double Sold-Out Success in Hermanus

The momentum grew even stronger as the band moved towards the coast. On 23 May, reports poured in celebrating The Staccatos' phenomenal impact at the Road House Cinema in Hermanus.

Across the weekend, including the scheduled prime-time slots on Saturday, 23 May at 19h00 and the matinee on Sunday, 24 May at 15h00,the band delivered back-to-back, completely sold-out performances.

Bringing the cinema to life with an electric, timeless energy, the crowd danced, sang along to every word, and ultimately gave the band a powerful, roaring standing ovation to honor their 65th anniversary.

31 May: Grand Finale at Heroes Live

The historic tour reached its grand finale on Sunday, 31 May at Heroes Live. Doors opened at 12h00, and the music kicked off at 14h00 as fans flocked to catch the final chords of these South African rock pioneers.

By the end of 31 May, the tour concluded on the highest possible note. Reflecting on a month of countless kilometres, packed houses, and new friendships, the band thanked the audiences, venues, and guesthouses that made them feel at home. Though the road has called them home for now, the music and memories of this historic May tour will undoubtedly live on forever.
