Service Delivery and Housing Initiatives in the City of Matlosana

The City of Matlosana recently hosted key initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and supporting community development. The Phase 5 Accelerated Service Delivery Programme, Thuntsha Lerole, and the Military Veterans Housing Project formed part of broader government efforts to strengthen partnerships with communities while addressing essential needs.

Thuntsha Lerole Service Delivery Programme

The Thuntsha Lerole Programme took place in Ward 37 at the Jouberton New Taxi Rank near Tower Mall. The initiative provided residents with access to various government services and created a platform to raise concerns directly with officials. Activities extended to other areas across the municipality, underscoring the commitment to transparent, collaborative service delivery.

Military Veterans Housing Project

Alongside this, progress was highlighted in the Military Veterans Housing Project. The Department of Human Settlements, in partnership with the City of Matlosana, reported the completion of three new housing units in Tigane, with seven more under construction in Jouberton Extension 31 and 34. The project, implemented by Gcinisipho Trading (Pty) Ltd, aims to restore dignity to veterans through access to quality housing.

The official handover of the completed homes took place during the Provincial Thuntsha Lerole Programme, with the presence of provincial and municipal leaders. The project contributes to the broader goal of creating sustainable, integrated communities across the North West Province.
