Service delivery took shape both on the roads and in the community’s educational support spaces. From fixing potholes in Meiringspark to offering vital student services at the Klerksdorp Library, municipal and institutional efforts highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at improving daily life for residents.

Road Maintenance in Meiringspark
The City of Matlosana’s Roads Department continued with routine maintenance operations, focusing on pothole patching along Neeltjie Street in Meiringspark. This work followed the successful repair of street lights in the same area just days earlier, marking coordinated efforts to improve both road safety and public lighting.

The maintenance forms part of a broader service delivery program directed by the Executive Mayor and Council, which aims to accelerate infrastructure improvements across the municipality. Visible upgrades such as road patching and lighting repairs directly address long-standing concerns raised by residents about road conditions and safety.
UNISA Services in Klerksdorp
The University of South Africa (UNISA) brought essential services closer to the community with an outreach program hosted at the Klerksdorp Library.
Prospective students and community members were able to access direct support across a range of areas:
Online Applications and Registration: Assistance with submitting applications and registering for courses.
Student Counselling: Guidance on career planning, academic pathways, and course selection.
Technology Support: Help with activating MyUnisa and MyLife accounts, ensuring students can fully access online resources.

The event drew a significant turnout, with young people filling the library space to seek advice and practical assistance. This initiative reflected UNISA’s continued commitment to accessibility in higher education and support for students navigating the registration process.
Building Community Through Action
Both initiatives, municipal road maintenance and UNISA’s student services, underscore a broader theme of service and accessibility in Matlosana. While infrastructure upgrades improve the city’s physical environment, educational outreach provides residents with the tools to build brighter futures.
Together, these actions demonstrate the value of visible progress and institutional presence, offering both immediate relief for current challenges and long-term opportunities for growth.
