Date set for 6 September at Baillie Park
Potchefstroom locals can mark their calendars for a lively evening out on 6 September2025 when Shooting for the Stars Montessori hosts their Evening Market Celebration at 14 Neethling Street, Baillie Park. Things kick off at 17:00, and everyone’s invited – yes, even that neighbour who always reverses into your bin on a Monday.
Entry fees are a no-fuss R30 for adults and R10 for kids, payable at the entrance. No need to pre-book or download any fancy apps – just rock up with cash in hand. That’s right, it’s a cash-only event, so leave the cards at home unless you’re planning on using them as fans when the sugar rush hits.
Food, Fun and a Bit of Bouncing
Expect a spread of proper crowd-pleasers. The market will be dishing up:
Lemonade
Cupcakes
Sweetsticks
Mini flapjacks
Mini doughnuts
Rissois
Boerewors rolls
Popcorn
Ice cream
Slushies
Candy floss
Basically, if it’s got sugar in it or can be braaied, it’ll be there. And for the little ones (or the young at heart), there’ll be a bounce bubble house to burn off the sugar rush, plus a photobooth with surprise characters. No spoilers, but they’re promising some proper excitement.
All of Potch is Welcome
The organisers say everyone in Potchefstroom is welcome – no RSVP needed. Just bring your wallet, a bit of gees, and maybe a wet wipe or two for the icing that will inevitably end up on someone’s forehead.
Whether you’re in it for the cupcakes, the community vibe, or just to see who’s brave enough to climb into the photobooth, it promises to be a fun local evening for all ages.
Just don’t say we didn’t warn you about the sugar crash.
