Solid Ground Park to Host Free Discovery Fun Run - 20 December

It seems Klerksdorp folk are being given an early Christmas gift in the form of a free fun run. Solid Ground Park, which promotes "Living with a healthy Spirit, Soul & Body," is inviting everyone to come and explore what they call the newest addition to outdoor fun in the area. This event, officially named the Discovery Fun Run, is set to happen on Saturday, 20 December.

Mind, Body and Soul Recreation

The event offers a chance for participants to experience "Mind, Body & Soul Recreation." The organisers are encouraging attendees to bring their whole family and all their friends to Solid Ground to participate. It is, after all, a free fun run, so what is there to lose?

Choose Your Challenge

Participants have a choice of two distances: a swift 1.2-kilometre dash or a more respectable 5-kilometre outing. For those who enjoy a jol before the day gets going, there is an early run at 06:30 am. If you prefer your fitness with a nice sunset backdrop, there is an afternoon option at 17:30 pm. Since the run is happening in December, runners should remember to bring water and wear hats or sunblock.

Park Amenities and Organisers

Solid Ground Klerksdorp offers a kids' play area, shaded spots, and toilet facilities. No doubt these will come in handy for runners and their cheering squads.
